NTP Events Breaks Records to Grow APTA EXPO; Increased attendance, exhibitors, net square footage and sponsorships

ALEXANDRIA, VA (December 18, 2017) – NTP Events, the leader in the face-to-face events industry, broke multiple records for the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) EXPO 2017. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia from October 9-11, NTP Events netted the largest net square feet, paid net square feet, sponsor revenue and onsite space selection contracts in the history of public transit’s premier showcase of technology, products and services.

APTA EXPO 2017 exhibits spanned 314,500 total net square feet, an eleven percent increase over the previous event with paid net square feet totaling 293,300, a nine percent increase. The total number of exhibiting companies increased three percent, while paid exhibitors grew four percent. Of the 800+ exhibitors, APTA EXPO welcomed 289 first-time exhibitors as well as 181 exhibitors from 23 countries outside of the United States. Sponsorship and advertising revenue also increased, growing by 37 percent. The 12,501 attendees represent a five percent increase over 2014 with more than 1,300 international visitors from 47 countries attending the event.

“NTP Events and APTA continue to strengthen our longstanding relationship after wrapping a successful show,” said Christopher Harar, President, NTP Events. “In addition to a record-breaking 2017 show, we achieved a 60 percent increase in booths sold during space selection, setting the stage to achieve similar results for the next APTA EXPO scheduled for October 12-14, 2020 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.”

EXPO 2017 introduced several new initiatives. Appreciation Days provided attendees with focused education sessions, networking events, show floor tours, orientation and a dedicated lounge on the show floor.  The TechKnowledge Experience area offered a unique spotlight on technology with experts available to demonstrate practical solutions, review social media profiles, and provide attendees with tips to boost productivity.  APTA EXPO hosted both indoor and outdoor autonomous vehicle demonstrations for attendees to ride and experience the future of transportation.
